i got two spams today, both had the subject: Retin-A – clitoris acne and other skin condition..

so we’re getting married in june. i’m graduating in june. could we do more?

i had one other thing i wanted to accomplish for us in 2005; become a home (or condo) owner. i told myself that i’d be able to determine if it’d happen this year by the end of march. now, it’s the end of march.

we can become home owners this year. it’s something we can do so, yay!

oh yeah, it’ll be in a neighborhood that we want and someplace we would enjoy living in.

cable modem’s been up & down a lot over the last few weeks. it’d lose sync every hour or so, annoyingly stopping file transfers. fed up, i called my ISP.

they took a look at my modem and stated that its signal was borderline bad. their suggestion was to bend the pins at each end of the coax cable. if that didn’t fix it, they’d send out a tech in a truck to diagnose the issue.

i bent the pin. signal/noise ratio went up 10db. yay!

service has been great and i can resolve most problems myself. it’s rare that i have to call my ISP to get a problem fixed. when i do call, it’s usually something major that requires a lot of work on their end.. or a tech to come out. i like that it was a simple fix this time and that the first-level tech was able to give me the solution. /me is surprised.

Well, according to this article, people are less intelligent than I thought when it comes to personal security. It is bad enough that there is absolutely no way to secure your network when your users paste their passwords to their monitors… but even when the impact could be as severe as having their identity stolen… they’ll still hand off all of their information for a pair of movie tickets. (Although, given the price of movie tickets, that’s not all that bad a bargain).

why buy expensive timed webcam software? the one included with my cam doesn’t have an ability to upload. plus, it’s dumb looking. XP Power Toys has an app called Webcam Timershot that is free. it works nicely. simple interface. gg microsoft. unfortunately, there’s no support for my webcam in linux yet, so i can’t leave it plugged into my webserver.
